    • What does NATA stand for?

      The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) measures the aptitude of the person for Architectural studies. The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability desired to pursue Bachelor of Architecture.
    • What is the eligibility to appear for NATA?

      In order to appear in NATA Exam 2017, candidates must have passed class 10 examination or equivalent examination. However, if any candidate is applying for B.Arch then he/she must have cleared senior secondary (10+2) examination with mathematics as one of the subjects or equivalent examination and secured minimum 50% aggregate in 10+2.
    • Who should appear in NATA?

      Any person who wishes to take admission to Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) shall appear in NATA, since most of the colleges/ school of Architecture take admission on the basis of NATA. However, there are various other methods adopted by various Schools of Architecture for the admission of B.Arch. For further details, the respective website of Colleges/ Schools of Architecture shall be visited.
    • Where to appear for NATA?

      NATA is offered at designated Test Centers located at colleges / schools of architecture in India. Interested candidates can fill the Registration form available at the website
    • What is the content of NATA test?

      NATA exam comprise of two major components;

      1. Drawing Test (Max. Marks – 100)

      Drawing test is essentially offline test, wherein candidate has to appear in three questions. Each question analyzes for candidate’s drawing skills – Sketching, visualization, colouring, composition etc.

      2. Aesthetic Sensitivity Test (Max. Marks – 100)

      Aesthetic Sensitivity test is an online test which comprises of 40 multiple choice questions related to various aspects of aptitude desired in Architecture. All questions are time bound based on their difficulty. The questions comprise of three levels of difficulty- easy, medium & hard.

      Both the components of test contain equal weightage with 100 marks. For further details of each test refer or official brochure of NATA 2017
    • How do I qualify NATA?

      In order to pass NATA, the candidate has to secure a minimum of 80 score out of the total of 200 scores i.e. 40% is the passing criteria. The average of both the tests (Drawing Test & Aesthetic Sensitivity test) is considered for pass percentage, there is no requirement of passing both the tests individually. Therefore the candidate with excellent drawing skills & poor can also secure good score as compared to a person with poor drawing skills and excellent aesthetic sensitivity.
    • What is the vailidity of NATA Score?

      IThe NATA score is valid for two consecutive years from the date of first attempt. A candidate gets only 5 attempts to qualify NATA or create the best score. After two years, the candidates score will be back on zero and he/she is eligible to re-appear for NATA exams with eligibility for appearing in another 5 attempts.
    • How to create Best score?

      In case a candidate is not satisfied with his/her performance in NATA, he/she can re-appear in test by making another attempt. A candidate is allowed to make only 5 attempts to appear in NATA. The best score in any of the attempts shall be considered as valid score for admission procedures.
    • Is NATA coaching essential to clear the test?

      The coaching provides a direction to the candidate by providing help and aid in either generation of skills or sharpening of skills desired for the exam. Although by looking at the syllabus, if candidate is confident to clear the exam, then no coaching is required.
